Registration
Students are encouraged to consult the exam schedule online. It is important to note that the schedule for exams can be altered at any time. This is why students should consult with their instructors to make sure they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also print out the official list to bring with them to their exam.
Students should also familiarize themselves with the rules and conditions of the exam, in addition to the exam schedule. These are available on the exam's individual page. Upon registration, students acknowledge that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
Exam sites try their best to accommodate participants who have special requirements. The nature and extent of these needs must be declared on the registration form, and then confirmed by an attestation of a doctor. The locations for the exam must adhere to confidentiality.
If students are scheduled to take three exams on the same day, they must contact their instructor or department to schedule a retake test. It is possible to take three examinations on the same day. However, this could cause a lot of stress and impact the quality. The professor might not be able give a makeup test on another day.
Students must go through their course material before taking the exam and must practice their German skills. The test is a paper-based test which assesses the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The examination results are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam are awarded a Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has reached language level A1. This level corresponds with the first level of the six-level scale of competence set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free. Students must bring a valid government ID to the test. Anyone who does not have a valid photo ID will be disqualified.
